Today was a little more low key. First we visited Santa Croce, a church in Bosco Marengo bulit in the 16th Century (first set of images below.) Then we went to a "farm" for lunch; the place was more of a compoud. We drove though a gate, which was actually one side of the house, into the courtyard wich was surounded on all four sides by the home. It was amazing and I"m doing a horrible job explaining but it would of been inapproriate to take photos of the home. Then our host took us to a street with painted homes (two photos way below) and to a famous candy maker.
This was a jail until 1989, now it serves as a reception area.
legend says that the crucifix turned when thieves broke in to steal the relics and the Christ turned to watch, which ended up scaring them away.
All the paintings are on large pieces of wood, this one was found behind an alter.
A body sent to the chruch duirng the 16th century to represent the remains of the pope that founded the church.
Catacombs containg the bodyies of over 70 Friars, burial stopped when Napolean baned it.
The architectural detail is all painted on.
